The Illustrious Eta Xi Chapter of

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated

 

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated was organized on November 12, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven school teachers. Soaring to greater heights of attainment around the world, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated, as a leading international service organization, has met the challenges of the day and continues to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship and Service.

 

Eta Xi Chapter was chartered on the campus of Towson University on December 17, 1977. Five young women inspired to promote Sisterhood and Greek Life at Towson University.  Janice M. Adams, Gina M. Anthony, April K. McLeod, Brenda L. Mimms, and Karen E. Morse chartered Eta Xi. Eta Xi Chapter was reactivated Fall 2023 with a line of 10 determined women. Life member Melissa Holley started her legacy when daughter Nyla joined Eta Xi Fall 2024. 

 

Since 1977, Eta Xi has provided innovative service programs and initiatives to the Baltimore community.  Signature projects include Project Cradle Care, March of Dimes, The Mwanimugimu, and Operation Big Book Bag.
